Meet the TeacherHello! My name is Ms. McDermott and I teach 7th Grade science at Northeast Middle School. I graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts with a degree in Health Science. I am originally from New Jersey, but am excited to be teaching down North Carolina! I am very passionate about science, global thinking, and inspiring our children to believe in their dreams. This year in the 7th grade I want to push our children to question the world around them and inspire them to help change an issue they are passionate about.

Our Class |
During this year our students will become scientists. They will learn about forces and motion, weather systems, and an enormous amount about life sciences. In addition, our students will work to become more globally focused as they look at how science effects people all over the world, and research various scientists from their own cultures. Our students will hold academic conversations, use scientific vocabulary in their writing, and work hard to conquer their examss! This will be a great year in science!
